Some house pictures

(And a couple new Jan pictures at jansimeon.davidbanga.com)

Exciting things are happening!  Today I took the rest of the carpet to the church.  I have it stored in the garage there (never used) and I’ll put it into the dumpster a bit at a time for the rest of the summer.  Won’t bother anyone, won’t cost anyone anything, and it is out of my garage.  Tonight I have the motorcycle AND the trailer in the garage, and my tools are all pretty accessible.  Progress!

Doors are an exciting thing.  What do you do with old doors that people have kicked/punched in?  Burn them, of course.

And how exciting to be putting new doors in!  We decided to go with solid oak doors – like the look and I like the heaviness of the doors.  Two in, five or six to go.

We have a big walk-in closet in our master bedroom, but the previous owners took the closet hanging rods and all the shelves off the walls, so there is no way right now to put clothes in there.  As all three closets upstairs have big walk in closets, Wendy put our clothes in another room, and we have Jan’s crib/change table in the closet in our room.  Works quite nicely!

Additionally, we got a couple more beds and have the extra rooms all set up and ready to go for whomever comes to visit! (don’t you love our cheapy bed spreads?)

We also have the dining room and living room in a quasi-acceptable state, we can at least sit there and have a conversation (the boxes in the dining room were unpacked today).

That’s it for now.  Looking forward to seeing ma and pa baxter tomorrow.
