Grandparent visit, house work, and Memorial day all at once
Wendy’s parents just left, and in about an hour our small group will start to arrive for a BBQ for Memorial day. Monday is our regular meeting night, and we are half-way through the commentary on Acts by N.T. Wright, so we thought we’d take a break from that. Instead, this summer we’re going to read through some of the inklings – you know, C.S.Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Dorthy Sayers, oh just look here to see the whole list. I’m pretty excited about this, we’re starting with Lewis’ “The Great Divorce.” I think there will be spirited discussion.
Wendy’s parents helped us do some cleaning/sorting/unpacking while they were here. Bax got almost ALL of our books unpacked and sorted alphabetically. He’s quite a rock star. Mean while, Ma Baxter helped getting our plants in the ground (just the stuff we took from the old house), cleaned windows, and was all around helpful. Thanks to both of you!
Those who know me well will see something in the following photo, something wonderful which fills me with glee:
Obviously it isn’t that all the garbage is gone, cause there’s plenty of it yet. It isn’t that we have the house painted cause we don’t. Give up? Our car AND trailer AND motorcycle AND all the tools are in the garage! Amazing! So exciting. Just pulling the vehicles out makes a huge workshop, insulated for winter, with plenty of power outlets and so forth so it is great for working! I’m so excited about our house.
