A quicky from work

Hi everyone.  Just a quicky to keep you all up to date.

Jan seems to be turning into that “fussy baby.”  Wendy is now figuring out what it means to get nothing done because of your baby.  I don’t see it much yet, as it seems to happen while I’m at my office.  We’ll get through it. Pray for Wendy.

Jan slept through the night two nights ago.  That would be a fine trend to set.  He slept from 10 PM until 6:45 AM.  Not bad.  Didn’t happen again last night, but we’re hopeful tonight.

Think bad thoughts about the Detroit Red Wings.  They are jerks.  Every last one of them.

I ordered enough flooring for our WHOLE house last night.  I also ordered the thresh holds and the stair nosing.  WOW!  We  have some work ahead of us!  We decided to do the whole house in hard-wood as we were able to get it so inexpensively.  It is engineered hard-wood on the bottom (the parts that snap together) and it is real hard-wood on top.  It can be refinished a few times with no trouble.  So, I’m working this weekend on getting the walls all ready to paint (Wendy is trying to rip off all base-boards, window trim, chair-rails, and molding as we’re going to replace it all), I’m hoping to get the front three rooms painted next week, and then I hope to put the flooring in those rooms next weekend.

The next project will be the laundry/bath on the first floor (remodel, rip out and redo), and the family room (rip out paneling, re-insulate and re-wire [get the receptacles out of the floor and add additional receptacles for the entertainment center], repaint the grout on the fireplace, and drywall).  I hope to be ready to paint the family room by the end of July.  Possible?  who knows.  We’ll try.

Just to keep the trend going my colleague, Paula, just bought a new house too.  Exciting times.
