galleries and lights

So one of the things I’ve been working on at our church is using the common space we frequently call the atrium as a gallery space. It is one of the nicest spaces in our building – beautiful skylight and lots of space – but it is drab blah beige brown. I was able to secure a hanging system for almost no cost – check out Walker Display Systems. These people essentially donated the system, really great.

So what else does a great gallery space need? Good lighting! So today my friend Jevon and I installed track lighting all around the room. We were careful, got it all in, wired it into the electrical box on an independent breaker…Nothing. So we check: the switch? power looks good. The track? The power looks good. The light fixtures? The power looks good. The light bulbs? Also getting power. However, no lights. Impossible? Yes, yes it is. But it was 6 PM and I had to go. A problem for tomorrow. Hopefully an easy fix, as we have an opening on Saturday night. I was grumpy. I still am. stupid track lighting.
