Unpacking and Installing flooring

You may think I am referring to our own house, but no! Wendy, Jan and I traveled to the Twin Cities in Minnesota to help Ken (Wendy’s brother) and Gail move house. Friday we loaded and unloaded a twenty-four foot truck twice, and got everything to their new place. Between rain bursts even! And Ken got the truck back on time, even after UHaul promised him one thing, then was going to charge him for another.

So we put everything in their garage. Not so good to find anything, but good to work on the house. Yesterday Wendy, Gail, Bax, Ma, and the kids “helped” to get the kids’ bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom painted while Ken, Ma and I installed new laminate flooring in the dining room and living room. We should be able to finish the paining today (just the family room) and then we’ll assemble all their new furniture (dining room suite and more) and then we’ll be able to bring boxes in from the garage. Soon it should feel like home to Rhys, who kept saying “go home?” last night when we were sitting at their table having dinner. Must be confusing for the little guy.
