A night off!
Well, well, well. It is a Friday night; I don’t have a concert or event; I don’t have to be at church; what do I do now? I have been working an awful lot lately – I need to get certain things in running order before Tumnus is born, that will make life easier later. But now, a night off! how nice!
So, we promptly called friends. We’re having dinner with Joel, Julie, Carrie, Jevon, Levi and Natalie (the last pair will be married one day, we’ve arranged it). I have Crème brûlée in the oven and chicken in pesto and cream cooking. Julie has an appetizer and the Groenewolds are bringing bread. Add some nice wine, and presto! a lovely evening ready to be had.
We had a doctor appointment today. Wendy is pregnant like a champion today. Tumnus is exactly where he should be as far as growth and his heart beat is strong. Wendy’s blood pressure is exactly where it should be (118 over 60 I think), and her weight gain is right on the bottom of the “normal” scale. I guess that’s where she wants to be. Me? I think she looks excellent. We’re very excited, and the excitement grows. It is still hard to believe. Wish my family was closer to us, I think that would make it all easier.
So I guess I should mention it is not all work and no play. Wednesday I had a rehearsal until 5:30 or so. After, Wendy and I went downtown and had dinner and coffee at the South Bend Chocolate Café. I was burning CDs of Jazz at SBCRC (see http://concerts.davidbanga.com/ for more info!), and I had some labels I had printed for the CDs. I put the extra parts of the stickers to good use:
