summer camp is over
and no, I don’t shed a tear. Highlights include:
1. the word “pulpit” becoming a very carefully enunciated “pooplit” 3 times in one speech during the play.
2. exploding volcanoes:
3. forming the phalanx:
4. The teenage helpers who stayed and cleaned everything up so I don’t have to go back tomorrow and do it. thank heavens.
5. the post-camp pear vodka tonic I am currently drinking –AAAhhhhhh.
6. weather that was bearable for the first time in many years. -thank you Lord!
7. a 10 year old Julius Caesar walking in to Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, a wee piece of irony I amused myself with, but probably no one present noticed. Oh well. It was suitably dramatique.
8. multiple homicides and suicides all over the stage with appropriate grimacing, chest clutching, and rolling about (although the one child who really needed to die, ha ha just kidding, unfortunately is alive and well… )
And thus endeth the paid part of my “vacation.” And now, on to the vines once again!
