tah DAH

Ok this is only a few hours later, but in that time, we have been to Lowe’s for our regular date and to buy plywood, more plumbing bits and 2x4s for the back room/laundry room/bathroom.  Then we went to church (yes, it’s Saturday) to do some clean up for the big day tomorrow.  Actually, tomorrow isn’t really a big day especially, but it starts a new sermon series and so we had to have a new liturgical art (decorations) for the front of the sanctuary.  Lisbet Hult from handpaintedquilts.com  painted us a tablecloth top and a hangy-thingy that look really nice and I put backs on them.  This also meant that that tree (you remember the infamous tree) is now in the front of the sanctuary as a thing.  You’ll see in a sec (waiting for commercial in ND game to go get camera except, craparoony, Tarheels just scored so I’ll just go now.  No wait, it’s called back on a flag!  There’s hope!)  David would like me to show you the coolio animation that he did on the church website yesterday. so here it is. Last night after the art gallery opening (that no one came to, sigh) we had a liturgical art committee meeting that was essentially our Bible Study group setting up the front and here it is:sanctuaire.jpg.They are streamers, silly.  And here is the tablecloth: table.jpg.  So anyway, as I was saying, we went and cleaned up and bought a steamer to “iron” such huge pieces of material (I have now become a steamer convert).  Then home and clean the house and play with the Jan and do laundry and all those things that you do on a Saturday.  (Watch football.)

So what have we been doing in the past month?  Well, pretty much take today and that’s a fair sampling.  Of course week days we go to work and  that has been uneventful.  I did miss 2 days of school 2 weeks ago because I had the good old flu.  In fact, I missed a Habitat for Humanity build day I was supposed to go to and 2 church services I was supposed to sing in plus the school.  Yeah, it was not good.  And I’m still coughing.  Jan got it a bit and now thinks coughing is cool.  David got it but decided he was fine.  Our friend and organ builder, David Wallace, was here and tuned the organ and made it sound lovely.  He stayed the night here and we had a scrumptious dinner.  My parents were here a couple nights ago just for the fastest visit ever on their way to Ohio.  They think Jan is the greatest thing ever, of course; that’s what grandparents are supposed to think.  Oh yeah!  AND I had my revenge on the final section of Ivy on the north of the house where the bees were.  Jan helped.  finalivy.jpg.  I’m thinking very unseriously about getting a bee hive/frame thing so that the bees live in there rather than in a hole in the ground where they can leap out and surprise people.  If there’s a big box there, everyone knows to avoid that spot, you’d think.  But, I’m sure I won’t get around to that especially since I know diddly-squat about it.  It’ll just be a constant surprise.

I feel like there is something big I am forgetting, but if there is I will just have to tell you next month, ha ha.
