and so it begins

Just a quick note, mostly to the grandparents, to say that Jan learned to crawl today.  Thus, in the past 2 hours I have only written 3/4 of an eval (report card) as opposed to the 5 or 6 I would usually get done in that amount of time.  Mostly it isn’t because I have to chase him away from dangerous things, although he does like to crawl right up to the fire (stop worrying!).  No, the reason for my lack of accomplishment is that, in typical Banga fashion, he now understands that there is so much more than just crawling to be done and is impatient to start walking NOW!  Thus, he mostly scoots around crying and looking for ways to try to stand up.  Needless to say I cannot leave the room to get a camera to record this, so you’ll just have to imagine.  I have now become vital to him not as a source of love and food, but as a prop for the purpose of standing.  Incidentally, it has taken me almost 20 minutes to write this due to 2 pauses for walk-abouts.  I’m sure you’re all saying, “oh yes, I remember it well!”
