Birthday gifts
Many thanks to the folks sending birthday gifts – Wendy’s parents sent some toys and a book, and Jan loves his cell phone, which makes nice noises when he pushes buttons (which is his favourite thing). Also, today when Jan and I got home there was an interesting box on the front step, full of good things. While I’m sure Jan was thrilled with the clothes, he seemed to enjoy the cars a little and the box the most.
Thanks, a lot, Ken and Gail (and Rhys and Daelin) for the gift. We are actually short on that size clothes, so extra score!
Busy, busy week for Wendy. She’s teaching a lot of middle-school this year, and one of the big-deals for grade 8 is the Medieval banquet. It is tomorrow. She has a million details to take care of, but she’s excellent at organizing things like this, and she’s on top of it.
We’re very happy to be hosting my brother and mother this weekend. It will be good to see them, and it looks like a wonderful weekend weather-wise. Maybe we’ll be able to sit out and enjoy the yard (which is dirt, as the grass seed didn’t seem to do a thing….).
A random thing for the day, yesterday was Earth-Day. Look who was hosting:
