so tired
Well faithful reader, I am done with classes for the year. That means a week of oral exams and writing reports and then another week of parent/teacher meetings and then graduation and faculty meetings and then clearing out the massive accumulation of files and then…. you get the idea. I had a birthday somewhere in there, but I didn’t celebrate because there was too much else to do. David helped to roof the church which was a desperate need since it was leaking like crazy. Being the true renaissance man he is, he also cooked a 5 course french dinner for my French students and they stayed until 1 am! oh my goodness. They would have stayed longer, but we kicked them out because we were becoming incoherent. I’m glad they had fun though. Now we have tasty leftovers. At some point I raced around and planted flowers in pots – we have decided not to plant them in the ground – so now there are some spots of colour around the house and it looks like we are making an effort. We aren’t planting much in the ground because it is just such poor soil, poor options for location, poor sunlight etc. So some pots will have to do. One weird thing I’m hoping you can help me out with is this strange tree that is blooming on the north side of the house. It didn’t bloom last year and I’ve never seen anything like it. I was going to rip it out because it had almost no leaves, but lo and behold! Check it out:
. The photos aren’t great because it was windy and the tree was moving around so much. I think the flowers look like lilies, which is crazy, but I’ve just never seen anything like this. Thoughts?
