Hellloooooooo from Florida!

Hi folks,

Jan and I (David) are in Florida due to the wonderful generosity of our friends Yeff and Jan again.  Wendy had to stay behind to work, but I think she’s excited to have the house to herself for a while.

In any case, we are having a good time.  The weather, while the Florida natives aren’t too happy, is perfect.  Spotty clouds and sun, and about 78 degrees yesterday.  In the morning, we went to the Tampa Aquarium, which is smaller than Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium by quite a bit, but it was a good size for us.  Jan was quite interested in all the exhibits:

I think He was a little scared of the giant crab, but he kept trying to touch it:

But the funniest of all was when he found a spot where there was a light display and he tried to pick up the coloured dots on the floor.  When he figured out that he couldn’t pick them up, he decided they were for dancing and running through – he must have run through, “dancing,” about forty times.

After the Aquarium, we went back to Jeff’s parent’s condo.  They have a very nice pool and hot tub, and Jan has no fear.  He thinks he can be in the pool by himself, so he keeps wanting to jump in.  He doesn’t mind going underwater at all, and is pretty good at holding his breath!  In any case, he’s fun (though dangerous) in the pool.

Yeff and Jan are my faithful sidekicks. Think I could win a whisker contest right now?

A few times yesterday Jan would point at himself and say, “Jan.”  Then he’d point at me and say, “Papa.”  Then he’d hold his hands up in the air as though he’s asking a question, and say, “Mama?”  Guess he misses her.  I do too.
