Halloween Pirates!

Look how good I’m being, blogging all these times!  Well I couldn’t ignore the opportunity to take great photos of little pirates going trick or treating.  So, here they are.  Nathalie Gabrielse came too.  Her sister, Charis, was not dressed up as a pirate, but as a honey pot which doesn’t fit into our theme so no photos of her.  Jan was totally entranced with the idea of going up to all these houses we have always told him not to go to and then he gets CANDY at all of them!  wow!  It was like his dream come true.  He was exhausted by the end, but man, he would have kept on going in the quest for more candy.  He had a great time.  I thought it was also kind of cool because we went to houses of quite a few people we know and there were tonnes of kinds running about.  So fun times all in all. I’m sure he is going to want to do Halloween every day.

David worked all day getting the counter top cut and fitted into the bar area.  He stepped into the shower just after and all of a sudden said, “I think I’m going to barf.”  And sure enough.  So now he has what I had all weekend and is not enjoying it one iota.  It is so bad that we had to call the folks for whom he babysits Mondays and tell them not to bring their kid and we had to find someone to take Jan (since David usually has him Mondays).  I can agree that Friday I was scarcely in a state to take care of a kid, so I know how he feels.  Hopefully it will only be about a day or two like it was for me and then all done with.

Anyway, here are the photos.  Jan had a pirate bandana that had dreadlocks attached which may explain his look.

As you can imagine, the flag was only carried for those 5 minutes and after that it was all about carrying the candy.  The Gabrielses’ double stroller turned into a pirate ship with the flag.

ps, I should mention that our blog is regularly being bombarded with spam “comments.”  This means we just delete all comments without looking at them, so if you have commented, I’m afraid we didn’t see them.  You shouldn’t bother commenting either because literally, we get about 80 spam comments a day on this blog.  I’m not going to read them all to find one actual comment, so I’m sorry but that’s just the way it is.
