what we did this weekend

This weekend, David’s brother, Andy, and his mum came alllllll the way down to visit us.  They have made this trip before and we are grateful since it is so hard, if not impossible for us to go up to Canada (David might not be allowed to return to the States).  So this is what we did, among other things:

You can see in the background of the first photo that there has been quick-ish progression on completion of the bar.  David has the framing done for the shelves above it and now we have to buy the plate-glass to put in as the shelves themselves.  He hasn’t gotten any work done on the fridge, but that’s okay because that’s a project and a half all on its own.   But he has the slate (same as the fireplace) countertop almost done and the framing and wiring all complete.  The sink is in and although it is plumbed, it’s not attached.  So a few things to work on yet, but not too bad.  I am told the next project will be the remainder of the flooring in the laundry and downstairs bath.
