boys & birthdays
So this weekend so far was a bit crazy. Early Saturday, Jan and I went over to get our godson and Jan’s good friend, Calvin Donahue. He spent the whole day with us. While the boys were supposedly having a nap, I went to do the grocery shopping. While I was out, I get a phone that our good friend Lisa has for sure gone into labour this time and could I go get Ian. (False alarm Thursday evening when Ian spent an unexpected night at our house). So I go zipping over to get him and we go grocery shopping. I will say, that I hope that is what I have to look forward to; he was so much better behaved than Jan ever is at the store. But then Ian is 4 so that’s why I say I hope I have that to look forward to. After shopping and back home, we then had 3 little boys running amok. Time-outs were liberally handed out except to Calvin. Then Calvin’s parents and brothers came for dinner along with some other friends. The noise was unreal. Here is a photo to help you imagine it:
A good time was had by all I would imagine. And while all that was going on, Ian’s new baby brother was safely born. So all is well.
The other thing I am posting about is indeed my birthday, but don’t worry you didn’t miss it. It was in May, but what I got is flowers every other month for 6 months. So it’s always interesting to see what the flowers of the month will be. This is what I got recently:
Quite nice. Plus, they always come with a new card – David wrote 6 in advance – that tells me how awesome I am and how this month’s selection is picked by Smeer or maybe by Jan or maybe the two of them. So that just makes me cheerful.
