mid-January pause
Hello folks,
We have been having and will continue to have an extremely busy January. However, Martin Luther King’s day is a welcome pause in which we can get a few things done.
David has been working frantically to get a new installation at church done and keep up with the Sunday services. That turned out to be easier than it might have been when we had a snow day last week. But here is the installation in its finished state.
It is supposed to look like the Holy Spirit hovering over the waters. I think it looks cool. The screens on either side showed underwater fish and wildlife scenes at the beginning of the service. That all worked together really well.
Jan has been having a really good couple of weeks. He has been more-or-less well-behaved and jolly. Just the other day he spent almost the whole day with no pants on and tried to figure out what the potty is all about. So it’s a bit of a slow re-start on the whole potty training thing. I’m sure it will go better this time. Here are a couple photos of Jan being organised (hooray!!) and fooling around with Papa.
I have been working at school as usual. Two new classes plus this Medieval Winter thing are bound to just about finish me off. The Medieval Winter thing is something to attract new students and it’s taking a crazy amount of time. There is a new one next weekend and another one the weekend after that. But then it’s done and I can actually focus on teaching. And the Medieval Banquet. Sigh. But in any case I will just keep on plugging along. A day “off” today means lots of work for me.
We have also been having friends over as usual and having good times. Here is an assembly of the men watching a film.
Or men, as will be. Jan, glued to the screen, as usual. He has an incredible attention span for things like that.
Anyway, must get on with that work I was talking about. Hope all is well with you.
