what kind of day it was.

This is what kind of day we had today.

Yesterday I planted lots and lots of flowers, but I didn’t plant everything.  So…. rain pouring down or not, today was the only day I had to finish.  Therefore, off we go!

Oh and I also marked a set of French assignments, wrote up some stuff for New Testament, checked out stuff for Ancient History, did all the laundry and watched 2 days worth of the Giro (cycle race in Italy) while I did all that other stuff.

This is what David did yesterday and today:

He already finished the bathroom right there and, as you can see, is getting started on the laundry room.  Doesn’t it look like it’s always been there?  The tile in the kitchen and hallway is a weird size: 17 inches of all things.  You can’t just buy that anymore, so we went with a smaller size: 13 inches (which also seems weird to me).  The tiles in the rest are all off-set, but David lined up all the ones in the new part because it’s so much easier to lay and because it’s going to look different anyway since it’s a different size.  It’s pretty exciting , I think.

This is what Jan did today:

Oh my goodness!

This is what Jan and I did together today:

Did I mention it was raining outside?  So we camped inside instead.

This is what we did Tuesday:

We went for a test drive and who knew?  2.5 hours later (and a lot of chasing Jan around the dealership), we came home with a new car.  This is a 2009 Hyundai Sonata which David talked them down to a low price and then, it so happens, we go to church with the owner of the dealership.  We mentioned this to our sales guy just as chit-chat and he phoned the owner who told them to take another 1000$ off!!  wow!  So there it is.  It’s a standard shift which is something I really wanted. I find the first gear to be super sensitive probably because things have changed a little in the decade it’s been since I owned a standard.  Anyway, it’s a huge relief to not have to worry about the old car falling apart.  We now just have to do paper-work and get a trailer hitch installed.  So all is well.  David’s not sleeping because we now have a car payments, ha ha.  But the payments aren’t bad. God is good, which is not a surprise, but yet it is, if you know what I mean.  I think we will call it, “the Shark,” because it has a dorsal fin.  You’ll see if you click on the photo.

I hope your day was as profitable, too.
